#About the Fishing Village

Sozopol is a fishing village that has become a nice port city, popular and full of life, that offers visitors a beautiful strip of beach, wooden cabins built on stone bases, wonderful stone streets, narrow alleyways with ancient buildings that are full of magic and two wonderful beaches.

Here the ancient Greek city Apolonia used to be located, that for hundreds of years was a successful and independent city, until the Romans destroyed it, which it never recovered from. From that impressive city, a small fishing village remains, that survived until the 19th century, and then 150 big white houses were built, in the traditional Black Sea style.

Sozopol is about 30 kilometers south of Burgas, and it is about a 40-minute ride. The interesting part of the city is the ancient part, located on the land in the north of the newer area. You can enjoy a tour, combined with a good and inexpensive breakfast, or spend a few days and go wandering around the beaches.

#Tips
