The zoo in Aldergrove opened in 1970 and it holds a wonderful variety of different animals - mammals, reptiles, birds, and amphibians. The zoo is part of educational programs for preserving and loving nature and animals, like the protection plans to save extinct species.
In the Greater Vancouver Zoo there is also a medical center for animals. Many of the animals here were rescued from different disasters and were collected and rehabilitated, until they returned to themselves and joined the zoo.
In addition to the animals that live here, visitors can enjoy a small train, walking trails, and beautiful places for picnics.
