Varna's Stoyan Bachvarov is one of the most beautiful buildings in town. It was built in the early 20th century, in the Baroque style. Since then it has been the official home of the Varna Theater Group and the Municipal Opera Company.
The initiator of the new theater is Mayor Ivan Cherub, who was a cultural and educational activist. In 1909, in his first municipal meeting as mayor, he raised the idea of building a new home for the theater in the city. At that meeting, it was decided on the location and need for a new theater building and the rest - history.
Among other things, the summer festival events in Varna are held at the theater.
A nice attraction outside the theater is the fountain in front of it, which is a place for a short break and a meeting point for the city's residents.
