Tokyo Station is one of Tokyo's main Central Stations. From the terminal you can reach almost anywhere in Tokyo and the whole of Japan. It is a very large station. The platforms leading from it to the central places in the city are placed close together.
Besides being famous for its size, Tokyo Station is equally famous for its red brick building. The station which was built in 1914, was covered in European style red bricks, which made it gain its classic look, making it impressive, especially on the outside.
The station itself has a huge shopping center full of all the
best. It is recommended to stroll by the different stands at the entrance of
the station, which offer a variety of pastries and Japanese sweets. You may find quite a few special Japanese dishes, some strange and surprising.
By the way, this station is not as big as the Shinjuku Station, which is used by over 3.5 million passengers a day and appears in the
Guinness World Book of Records as the busiest station in the whole world.
