Even if the Tokyo Dome is a main sports stadium and stands out from the rest of the city's sports, it needs a firm and stable economic base. And so, in addition to its sports area, it also has an amusement park, which is part of an amusement complex that together creates the "Tokyo Dome City."
The complex includes the baseball stadium at its center, as well as the amusement park, a fun and playful experience for children and the whole family.
The amusement park, which is partially covered, re-opened in 2003 and now includes the following areas:
LaQua - an ultra-modern area, with a waterpark, a shopping center, restaurants, and an impressive ferris wheel.
Thunder Dolphin - the city's rollercoaster, that is excellent for both fear and excitement. The ride starts towards the roof of the main building, and dives to the center of the ferris wheel.
Toy Kingdom - an indoor complex perfect for rainy days, offering a number of rooms loaded with toys and educational amusements, just for young children to enjoy.
