About Ueno TownUeno is a neighborhood that is part of Taiito Square, which is in the historical center of Tokyo, Japan. Ueno is known for its famous park Ueno, its temples and its national museums.
Ueno is located in the regional park, Ueno Park, where Tokyo's National Museum, Tokyo Kokuritsu Hakubutsukan, which accounts for about 10 percent of Japan's national treasures, is located. Not far from it is the National Museum of Western Art (KokuritsuSeiyo Bijutsuka). Also in the park it the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art, Shitamachi Museum, Tosho-gu Temple from 1651 and the Ueno Zoo, with glorious pandas, considered the oldest of its kind in all of Japan.
