About The Clear Water FountainJust before reaching the Meiji Shrine in the Rajkou district, turn left into a corner in the temple garden and you will reach a point where you will see a tiny spring, a well with clear water. The Japanese talk about it as a kind of water that is the most clear in Japan.
It is the well of Kiyomasa no Ido, where many visitors believe it gives strength and gives positive energy.
The well was excavated by the famous feudal general Kato Kiyomasa. His family was here during the Edo period, although it is not clear whether he himself lives here.
This well became famous after it was published on Japanese television about it and appeared in it some people who claimed that their luck improved, once they chose the spring pictures to background image of their cell phone.
