About the Tower with Special Bubble WindowsThe building in front of you, the Mikimoto Building, is a tower designed by the Japanese architect Toyo Ito. It was built in 2005 and is full of aesthetics and beauty, dotted with windows.
The 56 meter high 9-story tower is narrow and stands on a small plot of land. Inside the tower you will find a large pearl jewelry display. This is because it is the flagship store of the Mikimoto jewelry company, which belongs to the building and is named after it. The company’s offices are also here, but on the upper floors.
The construction method here is very interesting. The building has 4 thin steel walls. The interior is hollow and has no support columns, thanks to a unique construction method that succeeds in stabilizing with great sophistication thin walls, also allowing arrangement of the windows, in a
non-contiguous order and in any form and way of design.
