The first club established was housed in a modest building in a Gothic style, that was donated by Commodore John Cox Stevens, and was in New Jersey. After expanding, other locations for the club were opened, such as Staten Island, Manhattan, and more.
You are now standing in the main location. There are 6 areas here divided by areas of interest, all having to so with the water. It is located in Manhattan and opened in 1901. The building was designed by Warren & Wetmore, architects from Grand Central.
One of the most interesting places is the "Room of Models." There is a respectable collection of full models of boats and yachts, miniature models of American Cups that belong to the Yach Club.
