The Memorial is built so that at the center are 8 granite walls, 5.8 meters in height, with the names of the missing soldiers etched into the stone, their names and home states listed.
At the center junction between to main walls, you will see a bronze statue, created by the sculptor Albino Manca. The statue stands on a nest from black granite, a white-headed Eagle, considered to be the national bird of the United States. In his claw is a bouquet of bay leaves, which he places on a wave. Throwing a wreath over a sea grave is a moving tribute of grief.
