Not any less than the modern art displayed here, the CaixaForum Madrid received its fame from the eclectic and interesting design.
This begins with the hanging gardens that cover the walls that have been expertly planted here. The verticle garden here is in touch with Royal Botanical Gardens of Madrid, located in El Retiro Park nearby.
To combine this verticle garden with the building, the best architects were brought to design the building, the well-known Swedish architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. French botanist Patrick Blank, who is also an expert in these gardens, was also brought to help.
The building, which in the past was used as a powerhouse, the architects added more floors that were painted red. With the additional space, the architects created a modern and colorful space, interesting and special, which corresponds to and does not deny the materials and usability of the original structure and also preserves green and respectful awareness of the environment, while creating a contrast between its part and the time.
