The park is located on the side of a hill, overlooking the Manzanares River. At the southern edge, on the Principe Pio Hill, there is the Debod Temple, an Egyptian Temple from the 4th century AD. The temple was brought here when the area, in southern Egypt, where it was located, was flooded by Lake Nasser.
Climb to the top of Parque del Oeste, to the Paseo Pintor de Rosales walkway, from which you can look at the park from above and watch amazing sunsets. Along the walkway are cafes where many of the cities well-off residents tend to sit.
