The square and its surroundings combine in an interesting way the Socialist-Soviet facade, with western and modern styles. As the main square in Burgas, Torikata connects to Aleksandrovska Street. This street, also the central commercial and shopping street in the city, is a modern street with its architecture.
It is interesting to see how the two come together perfectly, the old look and style of the square, and the western and modern look of the street. While the square is surrounded by buildings built in the typical Soviet style, among them is the Hotel Bulgaria building and the university building next to it, Aleksandrovska Street is characterized with the modern style of western Europe.
This architectural contrast, between the Soviet facade of the square, and the more western facade of the street creates a beautiful combination between the street and the Socialist Square next to it.
